Experience a trip back in time to a night that changed the world. See firsthand how the first Christmas night began. Southern Californians can witness a re-creation of that momentous evening at Journey to Bethlehem, a free, open-to-the-public holiday event featuring a cast of more than 150 costumed actors, dozens of animals and hundreds of hands-on experiences.

There will be multiple performances at the Journey of Faith campuses in Manhattan Beach where visitors will experience life as it must have been more than 2000 years ago as they walk through the little town of Bethlehem. Adult and children can pet the wise men’s camel, taste food of the time and hear angels singing from on high.

Everyone can get their hands dirty working with the potter, listen to the ancient tales of a storyteller or learn how the baker, the brick maker and the blacksmith made their wares in ancient times.

Each year, more than 11,000 Southern Californians visited Bethlehem. This year, more than 15,000 are expected.

“With an all-volunteer cast and crew, Journey to Bethlehem is truly an inspiring event for all who attend,” said Journey of Faith Senior Pastor Glen Martin. “This educational and compelling trip back in time is our gift to the community. We encourage all to come and relive the night Christmas began.”
